The Titanic Book Store.
As many of you know, I own a used and out-of-print bookstore specializing in collectible hardcover books. My store, The Book Corner, is an old fashioned, brick and mortar storefront in Brandon, Florida, a suburb of Tampa. I have been selling books full-time since 1988. We have a good general stock of roughly 20,000 books in a wide range of subjects. Our primary specialty is Maritime, Ships and Seafaring, including Ocean Liners, Pirates, Treasure Hunting and Shipwrecks. We also specialize in books on Aviation, Florida history, and 19th Century Travel/Adventure. Naturally I try to keep a decent supply of Titanic books on hand, both newer titles as well as older, harder to find books, when I can acquire them. Below are listed all of the books on the Titanic disaster currently in-stock, with complete descriptions and prices.

History

Diana, D.E. Bristow. Titanic: Sinking the Myths.
1st printing, with a label SIGNED by the author. Fresno: Katco Literary Group, 1995. 4to. iv+505+2(ads)pp. scattered photos, drawings, charts, & plans in text. Illustrated by Ryan Katzenbach & James Allen Flood. This copy includes a label signed by the author. isbn# 0964648407. softcover.
The author has the distinction of bringing fresh material to the Titanic story. Bristow did a tremendous amount of research in areas ignored by most other historians, particularly in the German language material. Her book is a gold mine of new information. The author has strong views, and proposes some radical new theories. I disagree with some of her conclusions, but others are very intriguing. One of her most important contributions, perhaps, is the very first chapter, which is nothing less than a primer on the jargon of 1912 merchant marine naval history and terminology.
condition: New. Near Fine. Small, slight bump to bottom corner of front cover. $30.00 s&h (media mail): $5. ask for item# 59441.
Steve Hall & Bruce Beveridge. Titanic and Olympic, The Truth Behind the Conspiracy.
1st printing. Haverford, PA: Infinity Publishing, 2004. 4to. iii+189pp. scattered photos and drawings in text thru-out. isbn# 0741419491. wraps.
At last there is a comprehensive rebuttal to the infamous conspiracy theory first proposed in 1995, that Olympic and Titanic were switched, and Olympic sunk on purpose in Titanic’s place. The reason, to collect the insurance money after Olympic had been damaged by her collision with the warship Hawke. Of special note is a chapter in the appendix which shows in awesome photographic detail the many ways these supposedly identical sister ships were actually quite different.
condition: New. fine. $18.95 s&h (media mail): $5. ask for item# 59016.

Senan Molony. Mount Temple and Titanic: Murmurs and Misadventure.
1st edition. Dublin: by the author. December, 2003. wraps. slender 4to booklet. 44 pages (including covers). scattered photos & illustrations. isbn# none. wraps.
An in-depth examination of the conflicting testimony surrounding the actions, or lack thereof, on the Mount Temple, which was a liner on the opposite side of the icefield the night Titanic was sinking. Although not a flaw in the book, some of the material includes photocopies of original newspaper articles, which are not as clean as the typesetting for the modern portion of the text.
condition: New. fine. $10.00 s&h (media mail): $4. ask for item# 58278.

John G. Moses. From Mt. Lebanon to the ‘Sea of Darkness’, Min Jebal Libnaan ila Bahr il Mu’attim (The Lebanese on Titanic).

The tragic story of the 174 Lebanese passengers who travelled on Titanic. Barely a quarter of them survived to reach the Carpathia.

Shipping & Handling: The shipping cost listed right after the price of each book is the price for media mail shipping within the continental U.S. As of July, 2002, the U.S. Postal Service is now charging both by weight as well as distance for priority mail, (before July, any package under five pounds was charged strictly by weight, regardless of where it was being sent in the U.S.). Because of this change we can no longer offer a flat rate priority shipping fee. If you prefer priority shipping, please contact us for a quote to your destination. For overseas orders, please contact us for a quote on shipping costs. If you are ordering more than one book, s&h will depend on the combined weight of the items. Please contact us for a quote.

Insurance: Insurance is extra and required on orders of $100 or more. Insurance on orders below $100 is not mandatory, but if refused, loss or damage during shipping is at buyer's risk.

Returns: You may return a book within 10 days if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason. Just let us know if you are returning an item so we can be looking for it. Please repack the item for return as carefully as we packed it for you. If the return is through a fault of ours, or in our description, then we will refund your shipping cost. Otherwise shipping is not refundable.

Condition: Our books are typicaly used, but in collectible condition, which means at least very good or better. Used books will list the actual condition within the description along with any notable defects. We also acquire some titles new, and these books are in unread condition as they came from the publisher. All the titles listed below will be identified as either New or Used.

Our Guarantee: All our books are guaranteed to be as described. We have been selling on-line for well over five years now and pride ourselves on our fair and accurate descriptions.

Terms & Definitions: I have tried to limit the use of book industry related language, but if you read something you don't know the meaning of, go take a look at the Terms & Definitions page for a list of commonly used definitions in the used book field. The one that seems to confuse people the most is the term for a book's size. The terms I use are folio, 4to, 8vo, 12mo, and 16mo. They refer to a book's height in inches with folio being the largest, and 16mo being the smallest. Here is a quick guide:

folio: over 14 inches, 4to: 11 to 14 inches (a standard coffee table book size), 8vo: 8 to 11 inches ( a standard novel sized book), 12mo: 7 to 8 inches, 16mo: 6 to 7 inches.
